We pride ourselves in having a wide selection of make and models to choose from at Rutabaga, but that means that we sometimes don't have specific models or colors shown on our sales floor. If you want to come and check out a specific boat on our sales floor, please call or email us in advance to set up a viewing appointment. If we don't have the exact make and model you're after on the floor, it could take 45 minutes or more to retrieve that specific boat from our warehouses.
This canoe is the Ford F-250 of the canoe world. The perfect canoe for long trips and expeditions on big rivers, the Prospecteur 17 carries a huge load and is great for moving water. It has excellent dryness and carrying capacity in addition to superior whitewater performance. It is the boat for the great Arctic rivers such as the Nahanni, Mountain and Hood and offers predictability, dryness and stability for short river trips. It also has excellent cruising speed for flatwater. This is the perfect compliment to our whitewater touring line, which includes the Prospecteur 16, the Présage and the Canyon.
